Welcome
This manual describes RAWCaptureBooth version 3.0.0: installation, setup, running an event and troubleshooting.
Who it is for#
The manual knows three roles and is organised around them, so nobody has to read what does not concern them.
| Role | Who that is | What they need |
|---|---|---|
| Operator | Whoever owns the photobooth; sets it up and rents it out or runs it | The whole manual, above all "Getting started" and the reference parts |
| Host | Whoever gets the booth for one party, often with no prior knowledge | "Running an event" and the quick settings; there is also a printable short guide |
| Guest | Whoever stands in front of the booth taking pictures | Nothing. The booth explains itself on screen |
How the manual is organised#
- Getting started goes from installation to the first picture. These chapters are written step by step, naming every button.
- Event management covers the heart of version 3.0.0: every party is its own event, with its own settings, layouts and pictures.
- Event settings and System and device settings follow the structure of the admin area. They are meant for looking things up, not for reading front to back.
- Tools covers the layout editor, the digital background and the web photo album.
- Running an event contains the timeline of an event day, storage locations, data protection and troubleshooting.
Conventions#
- A path inside the admin area is written like this: admin area "Event management" > "My events".
- Labels of buttons and fields appear in quotation marks.
- Boxes with a coloured bar highlight what is easily missed:
The fastest route to the first picture#
If the booth has just been unpacked, read in this order: Installation, First start, Setting up the camera, Setting up the printer and Your first event. Everything else can wait.
