The event day

One or two days before#

  • Event created and loaded, name and period correct
  • Layouts checked: are they the right ones, and do logo and date fit?
  • Complete rehearsal: capture, layout, print, scan the QR code, open the web album
  • Consumables counted: paper and ribbon for the expected number of prints
  • Event exported as a package to a USB stick (without pictures) — the fallback if the booth has to be swapped
  • Quick settings PIN set and written down
  • Free disk space checked
  • Software update: either done in good time or deliberately postponed

Setting up on site#

  • Booth placed, camera aligned, lighting checked
  • Camera on M, mains adapter or a full battery, auto power-off disabled
  • Printer connected, paper loaded, test print done
  • Wi-Fi connected if cloud, mail or web album are used
  • One real test session run and the result checked on paper
  • Test pictures deleted, counters reset
  • Full screen active, admin area closed

Handing over to the host#

Show briefly and leave on a sheet of paper:

  1. How a session starts and what happens on screen.
  2. Where the quick settings menu is and what the PIN is.
  3. What to do when the paper runs out.
  4. A phone number for emergencies.

Which switches the host gets at all is described under Quick settings for the host.

During the party#

ObservationReaction
The queue gets longSwitch off GIF and boomerang, shorten the countdown
Printer out of paperChange the paper; the queue continues afterwards
Network goneSwitch to offline mode; uploads and mails are caught up later
Pictures too darkDo not touch the exposure, check the lighting — changing settings mid-event is risky
Booth unresponsiveRestart the software. The loaded event comes back automatically if a period is set

Teardown#

  • Last uploads finished: is the outbox empty?
  • Pictures secured — for example by exporting the event including its pictures
  • If a web photo album is running: give the customer the link and the access code
  • Unplug camera and printer, pack the booth
  • Archive the event once the customer has everything
