Libraries

A library collects what belongs to the booth rather than to a single party. It stays when the event changes, and every event draws on it. Currently there are two: for AI styles and for layouts.

AI styles#

Admin area "System and device settings" > "Libraries" > "AI styles".

Own AI styles otherwise belong to the event — a newly created event starts without them. Whatever should be part of every party therefore goes into the library: its styles appear in every event, enabled by default, and carry the badge "Device" there.

Three levels work together:

  1. Factory — the bundled styles.
  2. Device — the library changes bundled styles for all events, hides them device-wide or adds its own.
  3. Event — each event switches library styles off for itself or changes bundled styles for itself. A change in the event wins; "Reset to device state" takes it back.

A library style is edited only here. In the event it can only be switched on and off.

Taking over styles from an event#

An own style or a changed factory style of an event gets here via the pencil on its tile and "Move to device library". Sample image and own group come along. If the style was unchecked in the event, it stays unchecked there.

"Move to device library …" under "Own styles" moves several at once: a selection shows own and changed factory styles, "Select all" takes all of them.

Exporting and passing on#

"Export styles" asks which styles go into the file. The same file can be imported into the library of another booth or into a single event.

An event package (export, "Transfer event", preset export) takes along the library styles the event offers. On the other booth they arrive as styles of the event; its library stays as it is. If the event comes back to a booth whose library has the same styles, the copies are dropped again.

Layouts#

Admin area "System and device settings" > "Libraries" > "Layouts".

A shelf of templates: the library keeps layouts ready that several events need — the house design, a proven photo strip, a frame for weddings. "Use in event" puts a copy into the loaded event. From then on it belongs to the event: changes there do not touch the library entry, and a later change in the library does not alter a layout an event has already taken over. Unlike the AI styles this is intentional — a layout is often tailored to one party.

Layouts are stored from the layout editor: the book icon next to a layout in the layout list adds it after a confirmation, along with its images and the fonts from the event. If the library already holds a layout with the same ID, the editor asks whether to replace it. "Load from library" in the layout menu brings a copy into the event, just like "Use in event" here.

"Export layouts" writes selected entries into a file, "Import layouts" takes such a file or a single layout file from the layout editor. An existing entry is never overwritten.
