How events work

Every party is its own event. It brings its own settings, layouts, graphics and pictures. Exactly one event is loaded at a time; its name appears in the heading of the admin area, so it is always clear what is being edited.

The split everything else builds on#

The split is visible in the menu as well: the green areas belong to the event, the purple ones to the device.

What happens when an event is loaded#

Loading exchanges the event-bound settings, layouts and graphics, and the gallery shows the pictures of the new event from then on. Camera and printer stay connected.

Pictures are never lost: they live in their event's folder and reappear as soon as it is loaded again.

How an event gets its name#

Three entries belong together and are maintained in the event assistant or under "My events":

EntryPurpose
NameWhat operator and guests see, for example "Smith wedding"
IdentifierThe folder in the cloud. Derived from the name automatically
Access codeWhat opens the web photo album. It is inside the QR codes

Presets, copies and templates#

An event can start empty or descend from something existing:

  • Preset — a template of layouts, fonts, graphics and event-bound settings. A preset never contains camera, printer, cloud account or licence, so it never reconfigures the hardware. The supplied "Standard" preset is always available.
  • Copy of an event — takes everything from an already configured party, without its pictures.
  • Customer form — the customer's wishes are read from a file, see Customer configuration.

The storage location for all events can be changed in the device settings — useful when many parties are kept and the system drive is small.
