Where should the images go? Three ways – one goal: the photos end up on your guests' phones.

Whether it is an album link for everyone or a single image via QR code: the photo booth uploads the images, the guests pick them up. You only decide where they are stored. The software supports all three ways equally – which one fits depends on what your guests should see and how much you want to look after yourself.

Three ways

At a glance

All three work with the same photo booth and can be chosen per event. The difference is what your guests get to see – and who looks after the storage.

Folder at the provider

Existing cloud

Dropbox, Google Drive, Nextcloud, pCloud, FTP

Ready to use

Depends on the plan free or paid – you use your account with the provider.
  • Album QR leads to the shared event folder at the provider
  • Single-image QR: every guest picks up their own picture
  • One folder per event, created automatically
  • No gallery page of your own, no event management
Setup: connect the account once, a few minutes
Suits you if: the images simply need to arrive
Your own gallery with event management

Self-hosted web server

Hosting arranged by you

€60–120 per year at the host depending on storage needs – or your own server at home · about €12 per year extra for remote access
  • The same gallery and management as the BoothCloud
  • Under your domain, with your own contract with the host
  • Setup assistant handles upload and database
  • Also on your own server, for example at home – via Docker image
  • Remote access to the photo booth: your own Cloudflare account with a domain is needed
Setup: book web space, then about five minutes with the assistant – or Docker on your own server; remote access separately
Suits you if: you want to keep everything in your own hands or already have web space or a server

What suits you?

Two questions are enough.

1. What should your guests get?

Both work via QR code – the difference is what opens behind it.

Plans and prices

A server just for you, at yourname.boothcloud.de or your own domain. All plans can do the same, remote access to the photo booth included – they only differ in storage. Cancel monthly or pay a year in advance, which is cheaper.

All prices include 19 % VAT. The event figures are guide values from real photo booth events and refer to how many events are stored at the same time: an event with around 200 layout images takes up about 0.35 GB, with originals and edited single shots about 3.3 GB. Old events can be deleted automatically, which frees up the space again.

Open calculation

How the price is made up

The prices cover the running costs. On top of that, €2.00 per server and month remains – €1.00 for provisioning, administration and working time, €1.00 as a buffer. No more. Pick a plan and see where every euro goes.

You pay per year

The calculation assumes every plan is filled to the last gigabyte. So the price stays the same even when your galleries grow.

What the €1.00 for provisioning covers

The work around your server is not included anywhere else:

    • setting up new servers and connecting your own domains
    • updates, monitoring and stepping in when something goes wrong
    • handling bookings, invoices and cancellations
    • help with questions
What the €1.00 buffer is for

The buffer keeps the service running even when things turn out differently than planned:

    • price increases by the data centre or payment provider, without your prices rising straight away
    • failed payments, chargebacks and refunds
    • vacancy when customers cancel or only book during the season
    • moving to a larger server before space gets tight
Why the yearly plan is cheaper

The yearly plan costs roughly as much as eight months on the monthly plan. The fixed fee of €1.00 per payment is charged only once instead of every month. And the monthly plan is calculated so that it still works with only nine booked months per year – many operators only book during the season, but the server still has to be available all year.

What happens if the costs change?

If costs rise permanently or drop noticeably, the prices are adjusted – with advance notice and the same open calculation. Questions about this are welcome at hello@rawcapturebooth.app.

    BoothCloud · cancellation

    What happens after cancelling

Cancellation – any timeThe server keeps running normally until the end of the paid period.
End of termThe server is locked, but the images are still there. Booking again or replying to the email is enough to rescue everything.
14 days laterEverything is deleted. After that the QR codes lead nowhere.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can I mix the ways?

Yes. The storage location is chosen per event. One party can go to the BoothCloud, the next one to the customer's Dropbox folder.

What is the difference between the BoothCloud and your own web space or server?

For your guests there is none – it is the same gallery, in both cases under your own domain if you like. With the BoothCloud, server, backups and updates are included, and remote access to the photo booth is already set up. With your own web space you rent the storage from a host yourself, €60 to 120 per year depending on storage needs, and set it up with the assistant – or you run your own server, for example at home; for remote access you additionally need your own Cloudflare account with a domain, about €12 per year.

Why is the BoothCloud a subscription when the software is not?

The software is deliberately not a subscription service. Only the rentable cloud storage option is a subscription, because it cannot be run any other way. It was actually never planned, but was implemented after all because of high demand.

Can I run the BoothCloud under my own domain?

Yes. You set a DNS record at your domain provider that points, for example, gallery.your-photobooth.com to your BoothCloud server. Guests then only see your address.

Isn't Dropbox or Google Drive enough?

For many events, yes. Guests get a link to the event folder and their single image via QR. What is missing is a gallery page of your own, the event management and access for the host.

Which BoothCloud plan do I need?

If you only upload the finished layout images, 50 GB is enough for well over a hundred events. If originals and single shots should go online too, it depends on how many events stay available at the same time – the guide values are listed with the plans. Because old events can be deleted automatically, the storage is a rotation rather than an annual budget.
