When you connect a Dropbox or Google Drive account in RAWCaptureBooth, only your computer communicates directly with the respective provider; no data passes through our servers. Mira, the help bot
On our website and in RAWCaptureBooth, the help bot "Mira" answers questions about features, setup and errors. Using it is voluntary. Data is only processed once you open the chat window or send a question.
Bot protection: When the chat window is opened, Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) is loaded. Turnstile checks whether a request comes from a human; for this, your IP address and technical information about your browser and device are transmitted to Cloudflare. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protection against automated requests and misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further details can be found in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your question: With each question, your browser sends the question text, the previous conversation in the chat window, matching excerpts from our manual, the language and the page you are on to our help service, which is operated at Cloudflare. It forwards the question to Anthropic, PBC (San Francisco, USA), which generates the answer with an AI language model. Anthropic acts as our processor; the transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses. The help service does not store the content of questions and answers. To limit misuse, it counts requests per IP address (for IPv6 only the network) and day; these counters are deleted at the end of the day. The conversation remains in your browser's session storage and disappears when you close the tab. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions about our product (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for customers, the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Please do not enter personal data of third parties in the chat.

Online layout editor
At editor.rawcapturebooth.app we provide the RAWCaptureBooth layout editor in the browser without an account, so you can design layouts without a photo booth.
Storage in your browser: The editor stores your layouts, including any images you add, only in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) on your device, and editor settings such as grid or guides in local storage (localStorage). We have no access to them. You delete them in the editor or by clearing the site data in your browser. This storage is strictly necessary for the service you request (Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG).
Processing on our server: For the preview, the export as a ZIP file and the import, your browser sends the layout including its images, or the selected file, to our server. It processes them in memory only to produce the result and does not store them. The editor service keeps no access log. To prevent abuse it counts requests per IP address for one minute in memory; the counter is then discarded. The section "Server log files" applies to the logs of the upstream web server. We operate the server ourselves in Germany.
Fonts: The editor loads all fonts from our server. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font provider. If a font is missing, our server fetches it on request from Bunny Fonts or Google Fonts; only our server's address is transmitted, not yours.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a layout design tool and protecting it against abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), and for customers the performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Please only upload images you are allowed to use.
Videos from YouTube
On our start page we embed a video hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The video is not loaded automatically: at first you only see a button served from our own server. Only when you click it is a connection to YouTube established, your IP address transmitted to Google and the player loaded. We use the extended privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so that according to YouTube no cookies for recognition are set as long as you do not play the video. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking the button under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Which data Google processes is described in the Google privacy policy.
